battery cables before servicing electrical systemsFailure to do so could result in injury from ignition sources (sparks) or from contact with moving parts if accidental cranking or starting occursProvide sufficient slack at motor end to permit steering and tilting of motor without binding cables
1Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to shaded area of receptacle
IJJ 2Align arrowsand push connectors together firmly
rn of engine30Route electrical cable along starboard side to 420 thru rear
5Route the positive (red) battery cable to the starter solenoidSecure the cable to the starter solenoidCover terminal with rubber boot
