Removal

1Avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing; twist and remove all spark plug leadsDisconnect battery cables at the battery2Remove the air silencer from the engineRotate the propeller shaft and shift the gearcase to FORWARDRemove the shift rod link retaining pin

3Push the shift rod link toward the powerhead to disengage the shift rod

rn Windex number ofthe index mark trimthe gearcase aligns 4Note where on with the the adjustable tab so the trim tab
can be reinstalled in the same positionRemove the screw and trim tab from the gearcase5 8
