4Wrap single layer of cellophane tape around the crankshaftBottom of tape should be just below the crankcase flatsThe tape will protect the flywheel cover seal from damage during flywheel cover installation
5Be sure the wave washer is positioned on the starter pinion shaft
6Carefully install the flywheel coverRemove the tape from the crankshaft after the cover is seated7Install the 17 flywheel cover screws and tighten to 40-50 inIbs(4,5-5,7 Nm)8Install the spark lever assembly on the throttle camshaftSecure the spark lever assembly with the retainer9Position the timing wheel on the crankshaftInstall the timing pointer and adjust it as described in Synchronization and Linkage Adjustment, Section 1
