STEPRUNNING OUTPUT TEST
1Twist and remove primary leads from ignition coilsf161 2.atwist to install Stevens Instrument No TS-77 terminal extenders, or equivalent, on IgnItIon coli primary postsf161 3Install primary leads on terminal extendersObserve proper wire routingOrangeblue primary lead must be connected to the No.1 ignition coilNote Route all tester leads so they do not interfere with moving engine partsf161 4Connect voltmeter red lead to No.1 terminal extenderConnect meter black lead to clean engme ground5Adjust voltmeter to setting listed in following chartStart engine and run it under load at RPM where ignition problem existsMeter must show at least: Models 40RS, RP; 45, 55 40RE,BA 12 Amp 6Repeat Step for No.2 ignition coil: If either cylinder shows less than specified output, test charge coilRefer to STEPCHARGE COIL TEST If charge coil tests good, replace the power pack7Remove terminal extendersInstall ignition coil primary leadsObserve proper wire routingOrangeblue primary lead must be connected to the No.1 ignition coilVoltmeter "NEG," 500 "POS," 500 "POS," 500 Output 175 175 175
