1731 52Remove and discard the seals from the trim pistonsCarefully clean the trim pistons and rods and install new seals1741 53Using OMC Trim Sleeve Remover, PIN 325065, pry the trim sleeves from the manifoldWhen removing, rock the sleeve back and forth with your fingers while prying with the tool75 54Inspect the cylinder bore of each of the sleeves for scoringReplace the sleeves if scuffed or grooved1761 55Remove the seals from both trim sleevesClean the sleevesOil and install new seals on the sleeves, as shown56Remove the manifold from the holding fixture and clean the manifold thoroughly in fresh solventBlow excess solvent from the internal passages with compressed airIt is essential that the manifold and all components be kept absolutely clean and dust freeAny dirt in the system could cause scoring of cylinder bores, sticking of valves, or damage to pump componentsAssembly Use only OMC Power TrimlTilt and Power Steering Fluid or GM Dexronautomatic transmission fluid to fill the hydraulic system1Oil and install both trim sleevesThe seals of the sleeves must face downWhen installing, press the sleeves to the bottom of the bore as far as they will goThe top of the sleeves will almost reach the bottom of the threads for the trim end capsCOA2490
