115l1161 17Place the two wrist pin thrust washers on the tool with flat side of the washers facing out18Support the piston in OMC Piston Cradle, PIN 326572Oil the wrist pin bore and wrist pin1171 19Install the wrist pin through the piston and connecting rod, pushing the tool out through the pistonUsing OMC Cone, PIN 318600, and Driver, PIN 318599, install new wrist pin retaining rings in each wrist pin holeGap of the retaining ring faces down, away from notch in piston 21Repeat Steps 16 thru 20 for each piston201 22When all pistons and connecting rods are assembled, install piston ring setsInstall each piston ring set on the piston that was used to test the ring set clearancesBefore continuing, be certain all OMC Gel-Seal" has been removed from the cylinder block and crankcase mating flangesIf traces of hardened OMC Gel-Seal" are left in place, main bearing misalignment might occurRefer to Cleaning, this Section23Rotate cylinder block so that port cylinder head surface is parallel with floor24Coat pistons, rings, cylinder walls, and OMC Ring Compressor, PIN 327018, (PIN 330221 for oversize pistons) with Evinrude or Johnson Outboard Lubricantf211 25Center connecting rod in piston and locate piston rings on their dowel pinsSlide piston assembly into cylinder, as shown, while guiding connecting rod through cylinder block26Repeat Steps 24 and 25 for remaining piston(s) on the port side27Lightly coat both sides of new cylinder head gaskets with OMC Gasket Sealing Compoundf.i81 r,gl 20 :;j
