rw main bearing.retaining ring bearing and remove the 23 Remove the from groove of the center Separate the loose needle bearings Remove the lower main bearing only if it needs to be replacedUsing external retaining ring pliers, remove the lower bearing retaining ringUsing an appropriate bearing separator, support the bearing, place separator flats against the bearing and press off the crankshaft15Rotate the powerhead so the cylinder head faces upRemove the cylinder head and gently push up on the connecting rods to remove No.1 and No.2 piston assembliesProtect the condition of the piston by packing paper towels between the connecting rod and pistonDo not allow the connecting rod to contact the inside of the piston skirt during handling16Remove the piston rings using an appropriate ring expanderDO NOT try to save the ringsInstall complete set of new rings on every powerhead service jobf16117Using tool as drawn on Page 4-8, or OMCRetaining Ring Pliers, PIN 325937, remove the wrist pin retaining rings Discard the ringsr:tJl18The fit between the wrist pi to bosses of the piston is loose on both sidesPush the wrist pin through to free the piston from the connecting rodIf necessary, use OMC Piston Cradle, PIN 326573, and OMC Wrist Pin Pressing Pin, PIN 392511With the piston skirt flush with the cradle, press out the wrist pin using an arbor pressBe careful not to lose any ofthe 22 needle bearings or the two wrist pin washersIf any of the bearings are worn or lost, replace all the bearings on reassembly
