12Place cylinder body in vise, as shown1141 13Using OMC Tilt Cylinder End Cap Removerl lnstaller, PI 326485, or OMC Universal Spanner Wrench, PIN 912084, and breaker bar, unscrew tilt cylinder end capRemove tilt piston, rod, and end cap14Inspect the bore of the tilt cylinder for excessive scoring15Service the tilt piston assembly as follows:

aUsing OMC Hydraulic Cylinder Rod Holder, PI 983213, clamp the rod tightly in viseRemove the nut and washer from the piston end of the rodbSlide the tilt piston off the rodRemove the piston O-ring and the rod O-ring Remove the four valve assemblies, which consist of springplungerand check ball All four plungers and check balls are identicalThree of the springs are one length, the fourth spring is shorterUpon reassembly, the shorter spring can be positioned in any hole in the pistonReassemble the piston by placing one ball, one plunger, and one spring in each of the four holes in the pistoncUsing screwdriver, carefully pry the scraper out of the end capDiscard the scraper
