Disassembly Thoroughly, clean the unit before disassembling itScrub all outside surfaces with stiff brush and hot, soapy water to prevent surface dirt from contaminating internal parts ill sive heat can cause high pressure leaks or failure of parts

Do not apply heat to the cylinder body or cylindersExces-

Always use "lint free" shop cloth when handling power trim and tilt componentsIf painting the unit is required, paint it after it is completely assembledPainting of individual components may cause flakes of paint to enter the hydraulic passages during assemblyTape the trim and tilt piston rods before paintingf1l 1Screw the manual release valve inRemove the retaining ring using retaining ring pliersRemove the manual release valvef21 2Inspect O-ring and two plastic split rings on the manual release valve for nicks and cutsInspect tip of valve for damageThe two plastic split rings are not available separatelyIf rings are damaged, replace the manual release valve2
