STEPPOWER PACK TEST
To prevent accidental starting of engine while testing, twist and remove all spark plug leads
1Twist and remove all primary leads from ignition coilsr:J5l 2Connect No.1 ignition coil primary lead to Stevens Instrument load adapter NoPL-88 red leadConnect adapter black lead to clean engine groundIf Stevens Instrument NoPL-88 is not available, you can make an adapter using 10-ohm, 10-watt resistor, Radio Shack No271-132, or equivalent3Set peak-reading voltmeter to

4Connect voltmeter red lead to adapter red lead and meter black lead to clean engine ground5Crank engine and observe meter Meter must show 190 volts or higher6Repeat Steps thru for remaining ignition coil primary leads If all primary leads have good output, test ignition coilsRefer to Ignition Coil Tests, Page 3-10 If one primary lead has no output, replace power pack7Remove load adapter and install ignition coil primary leadsObserve proper wire routing and ignition timing: connect orangeblue lead to No.1, orangepurple lead to No.2, and orangegreen lead to No3o
