Timer Base Servicing Removal

'" To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove all spark plug leads
1Remove the stator assemblyRefer to Stator Servicing2Disconnect the timer base connectorrJl3Remove the screws securing the timer base retaining clips Remove the timer baseInstallation

1Carefully inspect the crankcase head and timer base bushing for dirt, metal chips, or scratches2Apply light coating of OMC Moly Lube to the crankcase head bearing surface and the timer base bushing1sl3Lubricate the retainer ring groove with Evinrude or Johnson Outboard Lubricant4Lightly compress the retainer ring and install the timer baseRoute and connect the timer base leadsrJl5Install the retaining clips and screwsTighten the screws to torque of 25-35 inIbs(3-4 Nm)6Install the stator assemblyRefer to Stator ServicingDR2618
