Function TestsQuikStart This ignition system incorporates QuikStartTM electronic starting, which automatically advances ignition timing when engine temperature is less than 1050 (41 C) and for approximately seconds each time the engine is started, independent of temperatureOnce QuikStart electronic starting has been canceled by engine temperature, the engine must be turned off before the ignition advance cycle can be repeatedQuikStart electronic starting also incorporates an RPM limit that cancels the ignition advance when the engine speed exceeds approximately 1100 RPMVerification of QuikStart

1Install correct test propeller and start engine in test tankEngine temperature must be above 1050 (41 C) before proceedingStop the engineAll engine linkage adjustments must be correct and idle RPM must be normal before proceedingRefer to Synchronization and Linkage Adjustments, Section 1r:jl 2Remove the engine cable bracketDisconnect whiteblack lead between power pack and port temperature switch3Connect timing light to No.1 cylinder spark plug leadStart engine and set idle speed at no more than 900 RPM in FORWARD4Timing light must show timing pointer near 40 BTDC If QuikStartfails to advance the ignition timing, check for proper operation of the power pack and timing wheelrJl 5When whiteblack lead is connected, timing light must show timing pointer near 60 ATDCThis indicates ignition timing has been released to "normal" setting If QuikStart fails to release ignition timing, check for proper operation of temperature switch, associated wiring, and power packDR3739
