20While holding the reverse gear in position, fill the forward gear detent notches with OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease and install the detent ballsr:;;] r:;:;t 21Hold the reverse gear in position and install the propeller shaft assembly into the gearcaseThe detent balls must be positioned 900 away from the driving lugs of the forward gear 22Rotate the propeller shaft to ensure the reverse gear is fully engaged with the pinionr:;;l 23Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the retaining screws and around a-ring flange of the gearcase headApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to new gearcase head a-ringInstall the a-ringApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the seal lipsInstall the gearcase head and tighten the screws to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)
