Installation 1Place armature plate on crankcaser:jl 2Apply OMC Screw Lockto threads of armature plate screwsInsert screws and torque to 27-44 inIbs(3-5 Nm)3Connect wire to stop switch and ignition coil primary leads4If flywheel key has been removed, reassemble to crankshaft with outer edge parallel to crankshaft centerline5Clean the crankshaft and flywheel tapers with OMC Cleaning Solvent, PIN 390905, and let air dryThese surfaces must be clean and dry to allow proper locking of the tapersDo not permit solvent used to clean tapers to wash oil out of oiler wick6Replace flywheel; See Installation of FlywheelBreaker Point Adjustment 1For breaker point adjustment, magneto must be assembled to powerhead and flywheel must be installed2Rotate flywheel clockwise until breaker arm rubbing block is on high point of camTo avoid water pump impeller damage, rotate the flywheel in clockwise direction onlyr:jl f41 3With breaker arm on high point of cam, loosen locking screw and insert screwdriver in slot to turn the breaker points base to provide gap listed in chart Breaker Point Gap 2.3 3.3 0.008 in (0,2 mm) 0.014 in(0,35 mm) 0.020 in(0,5 mm)
