Failure to follow assembly instructions closely could result in remote control malfunction, causing sudden and unexpected loss of throttle or shift control1Apply OMC Moly Lube grease to the four detent leaf springs and detent rollerInstall them

2Apply OMC Moly Lube grease to all surfaces of the drive gearInstall drive gear and neutral lock ballEngage the detent roller in the detent notch

3Apply OMC Moly Lube grease to the gear teeth, switch ramp, and bore of the shift lever Install shift lever, engaging the gear teeth with the teeth on the drive gear

screws and nutsReplace any nut that has lost its locking actionTorque screws to 24-36 inIbs(3-4 Nm)6Install driveshaftPosition the curved side of the driveshaft toward the trunnion pockets, as shown

7Apply OMC Moly Lube grease to the bore and sliding surfaces of the throttle leverInstall throttle lever8Install the spring, washer, and screw on the throttle leverThrottle lever will point away from trunnion pocketsReplace the patch lock screw if it has lost its locking actionTorque the screw to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)Hold the throttle and shift lever in NEUTRAL9Replace decal on handle side of controlUse small amount of OMC Adhesive sealant, if required, to hold decal securely
