Static TestingAll Models Continuity Test
1Check motor with an ohmmeterCalibrate ohmmeter on high ohms scaleGround one ohmmeter wire to the motor frameMove the other ohmmeter wire between the RED and GREEN motor wires(HBF2between RED and BLACK wire) Ohmmeter should indicate infinity00" If continuity is indicated; brushes, wiring or armature might be groundedRefer to Electric Motor Servicing, Page 5-8, or Page 5-14 for HBF2 modelNo Load Test
1Connect motor in the test circuit shown and note the amperage and voltage readings2Use vibration or mechanical tachometer to measure the motor RPM
INote Do not run motor out of water any longer than is necessary
to take reading3Compare the values to the chart belowStall Torque Test
