motor to tilt upThe tilt position will be pulled in an upward direction1The shock absorber valves in the tilt cylinder piston open and allow the fluid at the top of the cylinder to flow to the bottom2When the engine's gearcase clears the underwater object, partial vacuum in the bottom of the tilt cylinder, and limited supply of fluid from the top of the trim cylinders, will allow the tilt cylinder to partially retract3To return the engine to its original trim position, the hydraulic unit must be operated in the DOWN direction
