Installation Recommendations Carefully, follow the installation instructions packaged with the VRO oil reservoirIncorrect installation might restrict the oil supply to the engine and cause serious powerhead damageIf the VRO$ system is not used, follow this procedureInstall protective cap, PIN 315391, over the oil inlet fitting to protect the VRO$ pumpSecure with clamp, PIN 322654 Disconnect the VRO$ wiring harnessSeal engine harness Amphenol connector with cover, PI 3356551Determine if the standard oil reservoir has sufficient capacity for the applicationIf it doesn't, consider 3.0 gallon reservoirRefer to Opt ional Equipment, this section2Choose reservoir location that allows easy access and is within installation recommendationsThe reservoir has 15 ft(4,5 m) of oil hose and 17 ft(5,3 m) of wiring harness3The reservoir hose can be extended to maximum of 25 ft(7,6 m)If the installation is extended, the oil hose between the primer bulb and engine must be one continuous section with no fittings or connectionsDo not add on to the existing hoseThe wiring harness can be extended by soldering on additional 16-gauge wire to each leadProtect the connections with shrink tube and electrical tapeObserve proper wire color for identification4When making connections in the oil supply system, use only the clamp supplied with the system Do not use tie strapsThey do not provide adequate clamping action Do not use metal worm clamp on vinyl hoseIt can damage the hose and cause leakage5Test the "low oil" warning circuit before filling the oil reservoir: Make all electrical connections and connect the engine's battery Turn the key switch ON With the reservoir empty, the warning horn should sound for 12 second every 40 seconds III ID
