Installation
1Insert the stop button wires and throttle cable through the lower engine cover grommet2Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the steering handle bushing Place the bushing into the steering bracketAttach the steering handle to the bracket
ill locking
The steering handle nut must have nylon patch for Replace the nut if it has lost its locking featureTighten the nut so the steering handle can be pivoted and maintain any position
3Secure the stop button wire to the powerhead4Using OMC Pin Insert Tool, PIN 322697, install the stop button black wire into the plugConnect the 5-pin Amphenol connectorrJl 5Route the throttle cable through the clamp and secure to the powerhead with the screw6To adjust the throttle cable: Thread the anchor onto the cable housing 2116 to 211a in(52-54 mm) from the end of the cable sleeve Position anchor on powerhead and secure with screw Position the throttle linkage ball in the throttle arm and secure in place by pressing pin through arm and ball To check for proper adjustment, rotate the propeller shaft and shift the engine to FORWARD gear position Rotate throttle handle to wide-open-throttle position, then to idle positionThere must be enough throttle cable travel to achieve both positions If adjustment is necessary, rotate the anchor on the throttle cable to achieve proper cable travel Install the manual starter assembly and air silencer
