Installat ion f11 1Lightly coat new a-ring and outside bore of the crankcase head with OMC Triple-Guard greaseInstall the a-ring in groove of the crankcase head2Coat crankshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not allow lubricant to pack at end of splinesLubricant here may prevent seating of driveshaft in crankshaftBe sure a-ring is in crankshaft sleevef21 3Check to be sure the water tube washer is positioned on the water tubeLightly apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to upper outside diameter of the water tube4Assemble the powerhead to the exhaust housing, making sure the water tube enters the inner exhaust housingRotate the powerhead slightly back and forth to align the crankshaft and the driveshaft splinesf31 5Install and tighten the four powerhead retaining screws to of 192-216 inIbs(22-24 Nm)6Apply OMC Nut Lock to the threads of the port and starboard exhaust housing studsPlace the washer on the studsInstall and tighten the two powerhead retaining nutsf41 7Install the ground lead to the powerhead Apply OMC Black Neoprene Dip to ground screw connections8Install the carburetor, ignition, and electrical components to the powerhead i and ignition wiring is routed and clamped in its original
