Neutral Start Switch Adjustment9.915 INotel Disconnect the battery cables at the batteryf1l 1Shift the gearcase into NEUTRALDisconnect the starter motor red wire Q) at the motorr::;l 2Attach continuity light or ohmmeter between the starter
LJ wire and the neutral start switch wire at the electrical box3The continuity light or ohmmeter should show continuity
ill continuity should be indicated in either position
4Shift the gearcase into FORWARD and REVERSENo
5Loosen the neutral start switch screw (1)With the gearcase in NEUTRAL, center the plunger on the neutral start switch with the pin on the switchTighten the neutral start switch screwRepeat Step 4
6Connect the starter motor red wire to the starter motorTighten the nut securelyApply OMC Black Neoprene Dip to the connectionReconnect the battery cablesRemoval 1Remove screw and wave washer retaining the handlef31 2Remove adjustment screw and nut from neutral start lever and remove lever3Remove screw retaining neutral start switchf1l 4Disconnect the red wires Q) and from the starter motor and electrical box connection5Pull wires through grommetInstallation f1l 1Connect the red wires to the starter motor and electrical box connectionTighten nuts securelyApply OMC Black Neoprene Dip to the connections2Install switch to bracket and tighten screw securely
