157139Located under the trim check valve is one return spring for the pump control pistonUsing long-nosed pliers, remove the springDo not attempt to remove the pump control piston158140Using drag link socket or similar tool, remove the reverse lock check valve 59141Usin.g long-nosed pliers, remove the pump control piston and spnng42Clean and inspect the components of the pump control pistonReplace if necessaryBoth of the springs are identical and can be interchanged43Service the three short valves and one long valve as follows: aClean the valves in clean, mild solvent and replace the O-rings if necessaryDo not allow these valves to soak in solvent, as they have soft rubber seats within thembIf valve comes apart during disassembly, it can be reassembled to work correctlyWhile the valve is apart, check the rubber seat on the valve core and reassemble the valve in the order shown The valve can be pressed together in soft-jaw vise, or with light pressure in an arbor presscUsing flat punch, depress the valve springThe valve core should move back into position under spring tensiondLubricate O-rings of check valve to be tested and install valve in OMC Tester, PIN 390063Torque valve to 50-60 inIbs(5-7 Nm)Use Stevens Pressure Tester NoS-34 to pressurize valve to 30 PSI (207 kPa)If leakage is indicated, submerge tester in water to identify source10-68
