Control Cable Identification
1Install the throttle and shift cables in the remote controlRefer to Cable Installation, Page 9-16
19l 2Put the control handle into NEUTRAL positionThe throttle
cable casing guide will retract completely and the shift cable casing guide will go to the midpoint of its travel
1n 3As you move the control handle into FORWARD, the shift cable casing guide must retract and the throttle cable casing guide must begin to extend4As you move the control handle into REVERSE, both casing guides must extend5Identify each control cable for proper installation later

Control cable identification and function must be correct
The throttle friction knob must be adjusted just tight enough to eliminate unwanted throttle "creep" under normal operating conditionsr,Ql 1Turn the knob clockwise to increase friction and counterclockwise to decrease friction2Make preliminary, light adjustment before operating the engine3Make your final adjustment with the boat and engine operating under normal conditionsTrimTilt Switch 1Temporarily disconnect the control handle trimtilt harness from the trimtilt motor harness2Use an ohmmeter calibrated on appropriate scale or continuity light to test continuity
