7Disconnect the 5-pin Amphenol connector between the stator and power packAttach jumper lead to power coil terminals "C" and "0" in the stator end of the connector'7l 8Calibrate ohmmeter on appropriate scaleAlternately, attach meter leads between terminals "C", "0", and clean engine ground Meter must show high readingAttach meter leads to power coil terminals "C" and0" If meter shows 400 40 ohms, replace power pack If your test results vary, replace stator
INotel Do not run the engine with its power coil leads disconnected!
QuikStart Always ON
If QuikStart electronic starting remains on constantly when engine is operated above 1100 RPM, replace the power packIf QuikStart electronic starting disregards time and engine temperature and remains on constant ly when engine is operated below 1100 RPM: 1Check for trace amounts of battery voltage on power pack yellowred lead indicating damaged starter solenoid2Check for damaged temperature switchRefer to Temperature Switch Test, Section 43Check for open power pack whiteblack lead or damaged connectors4Check engine temperature for overcooling conditionRefer to Engine Temperature Check, Section 45Replace power pack3-28
