Driveshaft Bearing Housing Service The driveshaft bearing is not serviceableReplace the bearing housing if the bearing is worn or damagedAlso, inspect the driveshaft bearing surface if the bearing is damaged1.jl 1Remove the two driveshaft bearing housing seals using OMC Puller Bridge, PIN 432127, and OMC Large Puller Jaws, PIN 432129Discard the seals2Remove the a-ring from the bearing housing and discard3Clean the bearing housing in solvent to remove sealer from the seal bore and the a-ring grooveInstall new seals back to back in the bearing housing using OMC Seal Installer, PIN 330268Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the metal casings of the seals before installingInstall the inner seal with flush lip facing toward the bearing housing, then the outer seal with extended lip facing away from the bearing housingApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the seal lips after installing'4l 5Lightly apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to new a-ringInstall the a-ring in top groove of the bearing housingDo not install the a-ring in the bearing housing's bottom grooveThe bottom groove is an oil passageGearcase damage could resultDriveshaft Servicing '5l 1To separate the upper driveshaft from the lower driveshaft, remove the roll pinReplace the damaged component1sl 2To assemble the driveshaft, install the driveshaft retainer into the groove of the upper driveshaftrJl 3Install the upper driveshaft into the lower driveshaft, alignl.J ing the holes in the driveshaft retainer and the lower driveshaft1!1 4Install the roll pin to dimension shownDR2062 DR2061 14155
