rl 3Remove the shoulder screw retaining the starter lockout leverlockout lever springand washer to the starter housing
4Remove the nut from the starter pawl retaining screw
1sl 5Remove the starter pawl retaining screwwasherand
starter pawl plate with plate return spring starter assembly

f71 6Remove the starter housing spring CD and the starter pawl Q)
lJ with spring washer from the starter assemblyremove ring from the starter
f81 7Using screwdriver, pry open the pulley lock ring CD, and
8Remove the friction plate
9Hold the pulley in the starter housing while turning the starter over, legs downHold fingers clear ofthe pulley and jar the starter housing against bench to dislodge the rewind spring and pulleyRemove the pulley bushing from the pulleyand friction plate spring washer
