Motor Tube ShorteningFoot Control Models 1Remove steering housing from motor tube as described in Section 3
Using pipe cutter with sharp cutting wheel, cut off tube at point shown in figureBe careful not to damage leads
3 Remove burrs, raised surfaces, and sharp edges from tube being careful not to cut insulation on leads in tube Do not redrill roll pin hole in tube as this is press fitf71 4Double back the leads about 134 in(45 mm), and wrap with electrical tape 5Lubricate wires with OMC All-Purpose Marine Cleanerf81 6Push taped part of leads back into the tube until81f2 in1f4 in(215 mm6 mm) extends from motor tube7Install steering housing as described in Section 3
