Negative Circuit Continu ity TestHand Control Models To avoid damaging components or troubleshooting equipment, disconnect the battery cables before proceeding1Use continuity light or ohmmeter calibrated on high ohms scale to test continuity 2Connect one meter lead to electric outboard BLACK battery cableLeave this meter lead connected for all the following tests

Remove steering housing cover lead to BLACK ga lead at
steering housmg termmal The meter must show continuity If meter shows no continuity, repair or replace battery cables
5Move the forwardreverse switch to "FORWARD Toggle is away from handle on bow mount models and toward handle on transom mount models
Connect second meter lead to BLACK 14 ga lead on the forwardreverse switch The meter must show continuity If meter shows no continuity, refer to ForwardReverse Switch, Page 2-10
