Assembly 1Lubricate the armature shaft bearing surface with one drop of SAE No10 oilLubricate the armature shaft on and above the pinion helix with OMC Starter Bendix Lube, PIN 3370161sl 2If removed, install retaining ring and washer on drive end of armature shaft 101 3Assemble drive end cappinionspringand spacer to drive end of armature shaftInstall new locknutUsing a
strap wrench to prevent damage to armature, tighten nut to torque of 240-300 inIbs (20-25 ftIbs (27-34 Nm)4Assemble armature to frame and magnet assembly, aligning marks on drive cap end and frame
