1131 12Remove the pinion, thrust washers, and thrust bearing
from the gearcase
13Inspect the upper end of the shift rod for burrsRemove the
burrs using 400 grit wet or dry sandpaperSlide the shift rod out of the gearcase
1141 14Remove all components from the propeller shaft except
the clutch dog Inspect the components for excessive wearr.J5l 15Slide the clutch dog forward and off the propeller shaftBe careful not to lose the two detent balls and the spring
