Starter Circuit Check Chart INote Battery must be fully charged

Procedure Remove black lead from ground at CDConnect voltmeter between CD and common engine groundTurn key to START positionVoltmeter should show battery voltageConnect meter at START position
Result aIf no reading, go to Step

Check voltage between ground and CDill

Steps thru starter to solenoid cable from (J) to prevent starter engagement while making checks

m-Remove

bIf meter reads battery voltage, reconnect black lead to ground and go to Step
EI Check voltage III and
between ground

INote Steps thru key OFF before connecting and disconnecting meterTurn key to 5T ART position after connecting

aIf meter reads battery voltage, lead is open between CD and

bIf no reading, go to Step

III Check voltage iii and
between ground
