Gearcase Service Removal

i and remove all spark plug leadsDisconnect battery cables
at the battery
1Avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing; twist

r:jl 2Rotate the propeller shaft and shift the gearcase to FORWARDRemove the shift rod link retaining pinf2l 3Push the shift rod link toward the powerhead to disengage t=I the shift rod
!!I 4If equipped, remove the trim tab from the gearcaserJl 5Using 5S inthin wall socket, remove the screw with the flat washer
