Water Pump Servicing If the gearcase has been in service for any length of time, it is good policy to install water pump repair kitTo install the repair kit, proceed as follows: Removal r:jl 1Remove the four screws retaining the impeller housing to the gearcase2Slide the water pump assembly off the driveshaftRemove the impeller drive camimpeller plateand impeller plate gasket Discard the gasketDisassembly Assembly 1al 1Start by removing all the parts from the housingInspect the housing for cracks or meltinggroove at each of the four ribs, as shownDo not allow any adhesive to get into the air bleed groove in the impeller housingIf this groove is blocked by adhesive, the pump may lose its prime and not pump water3Place the seal ring
