Before beginning assembly procedures, all gearcase components must be thoroughly cleaned and in serviceable condition Refer to Cleaning and InspectionPage 6-5
rv PINAssemble and OMC Pinion Service Kitof OMC Special Tool 1the following components 391257 PIN 433033 -20 12 inHex Head Screw PIN 334986 Spacer (from PIN 433033) in 0.0Flat Washer PIN 326582 Rod (from PIN 391257) PIN 326575 Installer (from PIN 391257) -20 inHex Head Screw PI 334987 Guide Plate (from PI 433033)
2Place the bearing on the installer tool with the lettered side of the bearing facing the toolUse OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to hold the bearing onto the tool
f2l 3Insert the tool with the bearing into the gearcaseDrive the

the spacer
in the gearcase until the washer on the tool contacts

the toolPosition new seal on the pinion bearing retaining screwApply OMC Nut Lockto threads ofthe screwInstall the screw and tighten to torque of 48-80 inIbs(5-9 Nm)
