Disassembly Assembly 1Start by removing all the parts from the housingInspect the housing for cracks or melting, and install new top plate The top plate locks into place in the housing with square index tab'4l 2The liner now slides in and mates with the plate at the point where the liner is split3Place the water tube grommet in the impeller housing1,;1 4Apply thin bead of OMC Adhesive sealant to groove of the impeller housing grommetPlace the grommet in position on the impeller housingLightly coat the liner with oilWith counterclockwise rotation, install the impeller into the liner with slot for impeller cam facing out 15462
Run thin bead of OMC Adhesive sealant in the seal groove, and install the specially shaped O-ring seal
Installation 1Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to both sides of new impeller plate gasketPosition the gasket and impeller plate on the gearcaseDo not use the impeller plate gasket on Jet modelApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the impeller plate before installingf81 2Apply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to flat area of the driveshaftInstall the drive camThe sharp edge of the cam is the leading edge during driveshaft rotation 3Slide the water pump assembly down the driveshaftAlign the impeller housing with the gearcaseRotate the driveshaft to engage the impeller cam with the impeller, and slide the water pump assembly down over the impellerBe sure the impeller cam does not fall out of positionVerify that the impeller engages the impeller cam properlySerious powerhead damage will result if impeller cam is displaced4Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the impeller screwsPosition the water tube bracketInstall the screws and tighten them to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)L-_ _
