Cleaning and Inspection
1Wash metal components in solvent and dry with compressed air2Inspect spring for worn or broken end loops3Inspect all components for wear4Inspect rope and discard if frayedReplace with rope cut to length of 53 in(135 cm)5Examine pulley and housing for sharp edges and rough surfaces that could fray ropeFile and polish to removeAssembly
1Lubricate spring, spring cavity, and spindle with OMC TripleGuard grease or Lubriplate 7771s1 2Hook end of spring into pulleyCoil spring counterclockwise inside starter housingf71 3If new rope is used, fuse both endsTie knot at onE end of the rope and pass rope through hole in pulleyPush kn,)t and end of rope into recess
