1sl 9Take piston diameter measurement Va in(3 mm) above the 1sl 10Take at least two measurementsThe first measurement should be in line with the wrist pin boref71 The second measurement should be 90 away from the .1first12The difference between the two measurements is the out-ofroundness and must be no more than 0.002 in(0,05 mm)13Refer to Engine Specifications, Section for piston dimensions1sl 14Place each ring, separately, in its respective boreUse lJ piston to square the ring in the cylinderUse feeler gauge to measure the ring end gap
2.3,3.3The ring end gap must be within 0.006-0.014 in(0,15-0,35 mm) thruThe ring end gap must be within 0.005-0.015 in (0,13-0,38 mm)rgl 15Use feeler gauge to check groove side clearance of the piston ringsInstall each ring on its pistonWith the ring fully seated in its groove, make several checks around the piston
