Bearing Housing Assembly Servicing
1Remove water pump assembly from jet housingr,1 2Remove four bearing housing retaining screws, and remove LJ bearing housing assembly from jet housing
i safety glasses and proceed with care to avoid
unsnapping the ring from the pliers4Remove O-rings from housing and discard
"" 3Remove retaining ring with snap-ring pliersWear
rJl 5Warm bearing housing with propane torch to aid in removal of upper seal carrierINot
Do not apply too much heat as seals or carrier may be damaged
"" 6Allow bearing housing to cool until it is warm to the
f41 7Place bearing housing assembly in pressPress from the impeller end of the driveshaft until the seal carrier is free from the housingContinue to press bearings and driveshaft from bearing housing8If seals are damaged, the carrier and seals are serviced as an assemblyApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to seal lips before reinstalling the carrier and seal assembly1sl 9To replace the bearing housing seal, remove inner seal retaining ring with knife blade or thin-blade screwdriverLift tang of retaining ring, and raise retaining ring in circular motion until it has been removed
