[!!] 16Install the pinion and driveshaft as follows: Degrease tapers of the pinion and driveshaftInstall the pinion and driveshaft into the gearcasePush the driveshaft bearing housing in position Lightly coat the threads of the pinion nut with outboard lubricant While holding the pinion nut with an 1116 inwrench, and the driveshaft with an OMC Driveshaft Holding Socket Pin PIN 316612, tighten the nut to torque of 40-45 ftIbs(54-60 Nm)Pad handle of the wrench to prevent damage to the gearcaseIncorrect torque of the pinion nut will reduce pinion lifeDo amage pinion nuts'not reuse
