Assembly 1Lubricate spring and spring cavity with OMC Triple-Guard grease or Lubriplate 7772Lubricate outside diameter of spindle with OMC Triple-Guard grease or Lubriplate 777 and install through pulley1sl 3Place spring in slot of pulley as shownPosition pulley with spring on housing with spring going through gate of spring cavityEngage rib in center of housing with slot in spindle4Clean threads of spindle retaining screw to remove adhesiveSpray threads with OMC Locquic PrimerPlace lockwasher on screwApply OMC Nut Lock to threads of screw and install screwTighten screw to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)rgl 5Wind pulley counterclockwise until outside loop of spring engages outside face of spri ng cavityf51 6Install starter pawlfriction spring and friction spring links Install retaining ring with sharp side facing out7To install rope, see Replacement of Starter Rope8Pull rope handle and observe pawl to see that it extends out when rope is pulled and retracts when handle is returned to housingInstallation 1Attach starter housing to powerheadTighten the three screws to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm) o u
