20While holding the reverse gear in position, fill the forward gear detent notches with OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease and install the detent balls 136137 21Hold shaft reverse gear inthe gearcaseThe detent the position and install the propeller assembly into
balls must be positioned 90 away from the driving lugs of the forward gear
22Rotate the propeller shaft to ensure the reverse gear is fully engaged with the pinionApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the retaining screws and around O-ring flange of the gearcase headApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to new gearcase head O-ringInstall the O-ringApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the seal lipsInstall the gearcase head and tighten the screws to torque of 60-84 in Ibs(7-9 Nm)
Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the driveshaft seal lipsInstall the drives haft and rotate to engage pinion splines
