Breaker Point Test
r:l lt is possible to check the electrical condition of the points with

L!J an ohmmeterCalibrate the ohmmeter on the low ohms scale

and connect one test lead to the breaker assembly screw terminal Connect the second test lead to the breaker assembly ground With the points open, the ohmmeter should read infinity
W,th the points closed, the ohmmeter should read 0.5
ohm or less If your results vary, clean the points with alcohol and retestIf they still fail test, replace the points
INotel Never file points to obtain specificationsCondenser Tests The ignition analyzer provides three tests of condenser condition; condenser leakage, condenser resistance and condenser capacitycondenser may be tested while mounted on the armature plate by disconnecting the lead from the breaker assemblyConnect one tester lead to the breaker plate (or the condenser mounting clipif test is made off the plate) and peel back protective sleeve to connect second tester lead to condenser lead The condenser should be replace if it fails to meet any of the three testsThe capacity of the condenser used on these models is 0.22-0.26 Mfd
