Water Pump Servicing If the gearcase has been in service for any length of time, it is good policy to install water pump repair kitTo install the repair kit, proceed as follows: Removal
rv theRemove the four screws retaining the impeller housing to 1LJ gearcase2Slide the water pump assembly off the driveshaftRemove the impeller drive camimpeller plateand impeller plate gasket Discard the gasketDisassemblyAssembly f31 1Start by removing all parts from the housingInspect the housing for cracks or melting, and install new top plate The top plate locks into place in the housing with square index tabf41 2The liner now slides in and mates with the plate at the point where the liner is splitr;1 3Lightly coat the liner with oilWith counterclockwise rotation, install the impeller into the liner with slottor impeller cam facing out1sl 4Run thin bead of OMC Adhesive sealant in the seal groove, and install the special-shaped O-ring seal
