Routine Inspections
rv 50Check reservoir fluid levelcapacity once per season or every 1at least operating hoursSystem is approximately 21 floz(622 mI) Tilt motor up and engage tilt support Add OMC Power TrimlTilt and Power Steering Fluid or GM Dexronas needed to bring fluid level up to the bottom of fill cap hole Install fill cap Disengage tilt supportCycle unit in ten second spurts (add fluid as needed)A minimum of five complete cycles is required to purge air from the system
2Look for indications of internal fluid leakageCorrect the cause if Jeaks are noted
ill release valve by tightening the screw to torque of 45-55 inIbs(5-6 Nm)
Check torque of manual release valveSeat the manual
4Inspect the stern brackets for binding with swivel bracket in thrust rod areaRetorque tilt tube nut Tighten the starboard nut to torque of 50-54 ftIbs(68-73 Nm) Loosen starboard nut by 1fa to 1f4 turn after applying torque5The battery must be charged to specific gravity of 1.260 to 1.280 corrected to temperature of 80 (2r C)Refer to Battery Specifications, Electrical Section
