hole in the shaft with the hole in the clutch dog, install the pin and then, new clutch dog retaining springPosition three coils over each end of the pin, making sure none of the coils overlap or are loose

bearing housing with the shifter detent toward the topPush the shift detent lever down, into REVERSE positionBe sure the thrust bearing and the thrust washer are properly positionedInsert the propeller shaft assembly into the gearcase, being sure to align the shift housing pin with hole in forward end of gearcase housing13
