Ohmmeter TestKey Switch
INotel All ohmmeter tests must be performed with the engine not running1Separate the 5-pin Packard connector between the power pack and key switch2Attach the 5-pin Packard test adapter from Ignition Test Kit, PIN 434017, to the engine harness connector3Install the emergency stop switch cap4Calibrate ohmmeter on appropriate scale and connect one meter lead to clean engine ground and the other meter lead to one of the two blackyellow leads: Key OFF, meter must show low reading Key ON, meter must show high reading5Repeat Step using remaining blackyellow leadIf the ohmmeter test on both leads are good, the power pack blocking diode is shortedReplace the power pack6If Steps and key ON reading is low one, disconnect harness blackyellow leads from key switch "M" terminal: If meter shows high reading, test the key switchRefer to Electrical Section If meter shows low reading, go to Step 77Separate the emergency stop switch lead from the harness blackyellow lead at the key switch: If meter shows high reading, test the emergency stop switch If meter shows low reading, test the wiring harness8i the engine fails to shut off, test for open blackyellow lead, damaged key switch, or damaged power pack9Complete all circuits disconnected during this testo
