Control Cable Identification 1Insta" the throttle and shift cables in the remote controlRefer to Cable Insta"ation, Page 8-162Put the control handle in NEUTRAL position Inl 3When the control handle is in NEUTRAL position, the
throttle cable casing guide will be completely retracted and the shift cable casing guide will be at the midpoint of its travel4As you move the control handle through FORWARD, the shift cable casing guide must retract and the throttle cable casing guide must begin to extend5As you move the control handle through REVERSE, both casing guides must extend6Identify each control cable for proper installation later

Control Handle Friction 1The throttle friction knob adjustment must be just tight enough to eliminate unwanted throttle "creep" under normal operating conditionsf1Ol 2The knob is turned clockwise to increase the friction and counterclockwise to decrease the friction3Make light preliminary adjustment before operating the engine4Make your final adjustment with the boat and engine operating under normal conditionsTrimTilt Switch 1Temporarily disconnect the control handle trimtilt harness from the trimtilt motor harness2Use continuity light or ohmmeter calibrated on high ohms scale to test continuity[1ol
