21The forward gear bearing and bearing housing are serviced as an assemblyIf either is worn or damaged, replace the assembly
22If removed, the pinion bearing must be discardedInspect bearing for damage without removing, if possible23Remove the pinion bearing from the gearcase as followsRemove this bearingonly if replacement is necessary Remove the screw retaining the water intake screens to the gearcase Remove the screens using care not to break tabs on top of the screens
