Water Pump Servicing If the gearcase has been in service for any length of time, It IS good policy to install water pump repair kitTo install the repair kit, proceed as follows:
Removal 1Remove the four screws to the gearcase
retaining
the impeller housing
r:;)l 2Slide the water pump assembly off the driveshaftRemove
the impeller drive camimpeller plate gasket Discard the gasketDisassembly Assembly
impeller plate
1Start by removing all the parts from the housingInspect the housing for cracks or meltingApply drop of OMC Adhesive MTM in the seal ring groove at each of the four ribs, as shownDo not allow any adhesive to get into the air bleed groove in the impeller housingIf this groove is blocked by adhesive, the pump may lose its prime and not pump water
