Disassembly 1Remove four water pump screws L!J impeller drive keytwo gasketsand water pump plate f81 3Remove three gearcase cover screws and remove the coverDiscard the gearcase cover gasket
fJl 2Slide water pump housing up and off driveshaftRemove
4Slide the shift rod and driveshaft straight up and out of the gearcase5Remove the two gearcase head screws6Tap lightly on the ears of the gearcase head using wooden dowel and mallet until the gearcase head has rotated 100 or 150 in either direction7Remove the propeller shaft assembly from the gearcase
